Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee Seeking a Youth Member-at-Large

Looking for a way to serve your community and be involved? The City of Foster City is looking for a youth resident interested in serving as a non-voting member-at-large on its Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee! The purpose of this committee is to research, review, and provide comments regarding proposed programs and initiatives to be included in the upcoming two-year Sustainable Foster City Plan. The committee is looking for an enthusiastic and engaged high-school aged youth interested in contributing to the success of the Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee.
Sustainable Foster City is a holistic strategy that seeks to protect, maintain, and grow the economic and natural resources in Foster City, and to allow the community to pursue an enhanced quality of life. The strategy is based on the concepts of economic development, environmental sustainability, and social engagement, and represents a long-term plan that is continually monitored and updated.
The City is recruiting for one (1) member to fill the newly created Youth Member-at-Large for the Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee for a partial term ending on June 30, 2019, with meetings to be held monthly on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Interested applicants are invited to submit applications by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Applicants for the Youth Member-at-Large position for the Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee are required to attend the April 1, 2019 City Council meeting for consideration of final appointment.
