Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee

Serve your community -- apply to join the the Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee. Foster City is recruiting for one member for a partial term on CSAC  (September 1, 2024 through August 31, 2027).  Meetings are typically held twice per year in April and November in Conference Room 1A in City Hall, 610 Foster City Blvd. Applications will be accepted electronically via Netfile. Mission Statement: 

The Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee shall (1) advise the City Council on sustainability issues facing Foster City regarding Environmental, Economic, or Social sustainability; (2) research, review, and provide comments on proposed relevant city programs and initiatives; and (3) assist the City in implementing the Climate Action Plan and other sustainability-related City programs.

Membership: 

• Seven (7) Foster City Resident voting member seats (with a strong preference to have at least one of the seven members be a Youth member)

CSAC members will be recruited with a combination of advertisement and invitation. 

Each member shall serve a term of three (3) years, beginning on the date of the member's appointment by the City Council. No member may serve more than two (2) consecutive terms. Members whose terms have expired may continue to serve on the Committee until a successor has been appointed. The committee utilizes a staggered term structure with four members being appointed on odd years. 

Meetings Dates and Time: 

Meetings shall be held monthly on the second Wednesday of the month, at the Council Chambers Conference Room, 620 Foster City Blvd., Foster City, CA, 94404, monthly on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM.
