“COVID” Lane on Beach Park Blvd to Close February 4

For Immediate Release: February 3, 2021
Contact: Levee Project Hotline at 1-800-213-6320, leveeproject@fostercity.org

To enhance public safety as Levee Improvements Project construction continues, the temporary bicycle/runner lane on Beach Park Boulevard/E. Hillsdale Boulevard from Teal Street to Rainbow Bridge will be discontinued on Thursday, February 4, 2021.

Numerous bicyclists, runners, and pedestrians who are using the temporary "COVID" lane (part of the City’s Friendly Streets, Foster City initiative) on Beach Park Boulevard/E. Hillsdale Boulevard from Rainbow Bridge to Teal Street are inadvertently continuing into the closed "construction" lane south of Teal Street. To prevent members of the public from entering the closed construction lane, the temporary bicycle/runner lane will be closed for public use. Once the lane is closed, people coming from the E. Hillsdale Boulevard direction can continue onto the sidewalk (pedestrians and runners) or bike lane (bicyclists) on the west side of Beach Park Boulevard.

The City is committed to the safety of community members and construction workers and appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation.
