Police Explorer Program

Are you between the ages of 14 and 20 years old and interested in a law enforcement career or simply serving the community?

The Foster City Police Law Enforcement Explorers Post 459 may be just what you are looking for!

Explorer Post 459 was established to enhance the relationship between city youth and the Police Department. Foster City Police Explorers meet once a month at the Police Department. Explorers may attend national conferences and leadership training academies.

The Explorer Program includes:

  • TrustMeetings
  • Role-playing
  • Workshops
  • Trips
  • Ride-alongs
  • Community Service Activities

Police Explorers learn about:

  • Police procedures such as Investigations and Patrol Practices
  • Emergency Communications
  • First Aid
  • Fingerprinting

Our explorers assist the police in such community-wide events as:

  • The Annual Arts & Wine Festival
  • The July 4th Celebration
  • The Safe Streets Event
