Facilities for Pets

Foster City attempts to provide a clean, safe environment for people as well as one that is friendly to animals. Many Foster City residents live in condominiums, apartment complexes or other rental housing that allow pets but have little space for pets to run. This is particularly true of dogs that require space to exercise.

Foster City has therefore created a Dog Run area located at the corner of Bounty Blvd. and Foster City Blvd. The run is open to the public and provides a large area for owners to exercise their dogs. Several parks also have off-leash hours.  The Levee PedWay provides a great area for leashed pets to exercise.

The Dog Park and the Levee PedWay have been equipped with plastic bag dispensers to help you clean up after your pet as necessary.

The companionship of a pet provides much enjoyment along with a responsibility to manage your pet in a way that is not disruptive to others. If you have questions about pet, Municipal Code Chapter 6 contains regulations regarding animals in Foster City.

If you have any questions about pet facilities in Foster City please contact the Parks and Recreation department at Parks@fostercity.org.
