Bring the 'ohana (family) and celebrate Polynesian Culture at the Foster City Parks and Recreation Department's 11th annual Polynesian Festival! This free event will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 10 AM to 5 PM in Leo Ryan Park. Admission is free, however food and drinks are available for purchase.
Learn all about the hip-shaking, drum beating "Dances of Tahiti" with interesting historical facts, as well as an important American contribution to the genre of the dance form!
There will be colorful and spectacular cultural performances from award-winning professional Polynesian Dance companies including, Ehulani's 'Ote'a/Kaulana Na Pua O Hawaii of Hayward, Hapalauna Hula of Half Moon Bay, Hailala O Polynesia of Newark, Le Ala of San Leandro, Kawailehua Hula Ohana of Milpitas, Motu'aina of Danville, Nemenzo of Daly City and Rahiti of Daly City.
Don't miss this exciting day of cultural activities, arts and crafts booths, canoe rides offered by Ho'okahi Pu'uwai Outrigger Canoe Club, food and more!
Parking will be available at the Recreation Center, Library Community Center, City Hall, and at the Parkside Towers parking garage. The vacant lot across from the Recreation Center will not be available for parking.
