Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) will soon begin work to install approximately 6,000 feet of natural gas distribution lines in Neighborhood 9, along Polaris Avenue, Altair Avenue, Saturn Court, Leo Drive, Venus Court, Regulus Street, and Castor Street as shown in the Vicinity Sketch. Construction is anticipated to begin in early May 2013 and will take several weeks to complete.

The project involves underground boring to install new pipelines that are more resistant to corrosion and earthquakes. PG&E will mail construction advisory notices to approximately 1,500 residents in the vicinity. Once the new pipelines are installed, PG&E will temporarily disconnect existing gas service while service is re-connected to the new pipeline. A PG&E representative will contact the homeowners 7-10 days prior to switchover to schedule the work and to re-light gas appliances.

Construction activities may affect parking from time to time. PG&E will post advance warning signs and provide flaggers to direct traffic safely through the work area.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call Grace Briones from PG&E at (415) 695-3335 (office), (415) 264-6935 (cell), or email her at GPB4@PGE.COM. You can also contact the City's project manager, Allan Shu at (650) 286-3271 or email him at ashu@fostercity.org.
