Due to last year’s success, the City of Foster City and Recology San Mateo County are pleased to announce that they have again teamed up to offer a Coats for Kids program. Coats For Kids makes it easy for Recology customers to donate their new or gently used coats to be given to families in need.

Giving has never been so easy! During the week of Monday, November 5 through Friday, November 9, residents with curbside service can leave donated coats for free pick-up at the curb. On your regularly scheduled collection day, just place gently used or new coats in a clear plastic bag, labeled “Coats for Kids” and then place the bag on top of or next to your blue Recycle Cart for collection. Your collection provider will take it from there.

Coats should be new or in excellent “gently used” condition. All sizes are needed for children and adults.

If you live in a housing complex that doesn’t have individual curbside service, if you miss your curbside pick-up date, or if you just prefer to drop off, carts for coats are also located in the Foster City Recreation Center at 650 Shell Boulevard or at the Shoreway Environmental Center at 225 Shoreway Road in San Carlos. Carts will be available at these locations from Monday, November 5 through Friday, November 16.

All donated coats will be delivered to local non-profit agencies for distribution to those in need during the upcoming holiday season.

If you have any questions regarding Recology’s Coats for Kids program, please call their customer service line at 650-595-3900.
