The City of Foster City has just sent its first major care package to our adopted military unit, HHC 1-327th Infantry, 1st Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division, United States Army. Half of the members of this division were recently deployed on another tour of duty in Afghanistan.

The care package consisted of two large banners (pictured below) that were signed by members of the City Council, members of the community and by City staff. The shipment also contained more than 600 signed Holiday Cards which were hand-made by elementary and middle school students from Foster City. And to help provide a taste of the holidays, several boxes of candy canes were also included.

As a City, it is our most sincere holiday wish that all of our troops have a safe holiday season and are able to return home safely to their families when their tours of duty are over. Foster City is proud to be able to support our brave men and women serving in our Armed Forces and thank them for their service.

If you have questions regarding the City’s Adoption of a unit from the 101st Airborne or would like to assist in our future efforts to support our troops, please contact Mayor Pam Frisella at or Police Chief Matt Martell at
