For Immediate Release: June 11, 2012
Contact: Jennifer Liu, Recreation Superintendent, (650) 286-3390,

The Parks and Recreation Department invites the community out to celebrate the Fourth of July! As you make your plans for the day, please note the following parking options:

Parkside Towers

$10 Event Parking

City Hall

Free Event Parking

Community Center/Library

Handicap Parking

There is no event parking at The Marketplace (Safeway/Longs) parking lot and a 1-hour time limit will be enforced. Prohibited parking in red zones will also be strictly enforced. Parking is also not available at the Recreation Center.

This event historically turns out a large crowd for the full day of activities and events that lead up to the 9:30 PM fireworks show. The community is encouraged to walk, bike, and carpool to the Fourth of July Celebration. There will be no shuttle service before or after the fireworks display. Please anticipate that, due to the large crowd, it may take approximately 45 minutes to exit the city after the fireworks show.

The synthetic turf field at Catamaran Park will be closed, however the boardwalk and surrounding grass areas will be open and available for fireworks seating. The community is encouraged to take advantage of the entire Leo Ryan Park as well as the vacant lot across from the Recreation Center for fireworks viewing.

The Fourth of July Celebration is an exciting day of activities for all. Please bring your good spirits and patience and join in the fun! A complete guide to the Foster City Fourth of July events is available on the City’s website,
