The Energy Roadmap: Making Cost-Effective Efficiency Upgrades to Your Home September 15, 2010

Foster City, CA; August 19, 2010

The City of Foster City and its Environmental Sustainability Task Force are pleased to present the second event in the bi-monthly “Go Green” speaker series.

The presentation “The Energy Roadmap: Making Cost-Effective Efficiency Upgrades to Your Home” will take place on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Foster City Council Chambers. There will be a reception with light refreshments from 6:30 PM to 7 PM, and the program begins at 7 PM. The event is free, but reservations are required. E-mail gogreen@fostercity.org or call 650-286-3291 by September 13 to RSVP for this event.

Building off of the tremendous success of the Environmental Sustainability Task Force’s August symposium, this event will focus on home energy performance and will identify the most cost effective efficiency upgrades for your home and how you can take advantage of available rebates, credits and incentives. This free event is ideal for single family property owners and homeowner association boards, resident owners and management who are interested in improving energy efficiency, air quality and comfort in their homes.

Information will be presented by experts in the field of residential energy efficiency. Building Analysts certified through the Building Performance Institute from Emerson Environmental and Energy Beyond Design will highlight the most common and easiest energy efficiency measures that can be applied in most Foster City homes. Also, a Sustainable San Mateo County representative will describe how to experience home performance through their Energy Ambassador program. Join us to learn what an energy audit evaluates, hear how practical improvements can be made, and discover available rebates, credits and incentives that may be available to help pay for them.
