FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Public is Invited to Foster City September 11 Memorial Ceremony

Foster City, CA; September 6, 2011

The public is invited to join the City of Foster City in a ceremony to honor those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

The ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2011, starting at 8:30 AM in front of the Fire Station, 1040 East Hillsdale Boulevard in Foster City. Ample parking is available in the City Hall parking lot at the corner of Foster City Boulevard and East Hillsdale Boulevard.

In a short ceremony, the flag will be lowered from full staff and raised back up to half staff at 8:46 AM, the approximate time that the first plane hit the World Trade Center. A moment of silence will be observed followed by presentation of arms and personal recollections from Fire and Police personnel of the events of 10 years ago and recognition of those who died.

The flag will remain at half-staff until 5 PM.

For more information about the September 11 Memorial Ceremony, please contact the Foster City Fire Department at 650-286-3350 or fire@fostercity.org.
