FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Let’s Keep Trash Out of Sight

Foster City, CA; May 21, 2010

The City of Foster City would like to remind residents that, except for the days when trash is picked up by the City’s authorized trash removal service or contractor, it is illegal to place and/or store trash containers in a location and in a manner such that they are in a front yard, including the driveway or are visible from the lagoon. These containers include those used for recycling materials, green waste, and general trash.

Compliance with this ordinance will benefit all property owners and residents by keeping the City clean and attractive. A violation of this Section constitutes a public nuisance and is subject to City code enforcement.

For further information about the City’s Municipal Code, please contact Kohar Kojayan, Associate Planner at (650) 286-3225 or kkojayan@fostercity.org.
