Get a Solar Home Now:  How Installing Solar Can Power the World

Foster City, CA; April 28, 2011

Interested in going solar? Learn about solar options and costs at the next “Go Green” Speakers Series event hosted by the City of Foster City and the Environmental Sustainability Task Force.

The presentation “Get a Solar Home Now: How Installing Solar Can Power the World” will take place on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Foster City Council Chambers, 620 Foster City Boulevard. There will be a reception with light refreshments at 6:30 PM, and the program begins at 7 PM. The event is free, and reservations are suggested. E-mail gogreen@fostercity.org or call 650-286-3291 to RSVP for this event.

Speaker Craig Rush is a member of the Northern California chapter of the American Solar Energy Society as well as a member of Foster City’s Environmental Sustainability Task Force. He will talk about two kinds of solar energy—solar thermal and solar electric—and their applications. He will also discuss how the energy savings create financial incentives and how to finance the cost of installing solar power, including rebates and tax credits.

This event is hosted by Foster City’s Environmental Sustainability Task Force. The task force is dedicated to helping the Foster City community to live in an environmentally sustainable way. This seminar is part of a series that will be offered throughout 2011. To learn more about this and future seminars, visit www.fostercity.org/news/go-green.cfm.
