Get The Facts About Foster City Land Development Projects

Four major land development projects in Foster City have the potential to have a big impact on Foster City’s future. In order to assist residents, the business community and other interested parties to understand the projects and how they can be a part of the development process, free summary fact sheets have been prepared regarding each project. The Fact Sheets, as well as a number of documents related to the projects are available for download by following the link at the bottom of this page.

Free Fact Sheets are available for the following projects:

  • The mixed-use proposal for the Mirabella San Francisco Bay/Parkview Plaza project, situated on 11 acres of vacant City-owned land adjacent to the Government Center, includes retail stores, restaurants, continuing care retirement community, affordable senior housing and a public plaza.
  • The mixed-use proposal for the Pilgrim Triton Master Plan project, situated on 20 acres of privately owned land east of the intersection of Pilgrim Drive and Triton Drive between Highway 92 and East Hillsdale Boulevard as well as the Foster City Executive Park on the west side of Pilgrim Drive, includes replacing existing industrial, commercial and office buildings with new commercial and office space, housing and a park.
  • The proposal for the Chess Drive Office Buildings project, situated on 12 acres of privately owned land on Chess Drive to the East of Foster City Boulevard, includes replacing low-scale commercial/industrial buildings with new office space and creating open space areas with water features and a public walkway along the lagoon channel. No housing is included in this project proposal. The proposal for the Gilead Corporate Campus Master Plan project, situated on 40 acres of privately owned land in Vintage Park, includes replacing low scale office/ research and development buildings with new offices, laboratories, research development, manufacturing and warehouse facilities. No housing is included in this project proposal. The proposal includes creating a pedestrian oriented campus by closing a portion of Lakeside Drive.
  • Also available is a Fact Sheet about a Multi-Project Traffic Study that analyzed the individual and cumulative traffic impacts of Mirabella/Parkview Plaza, Chess Office Buildings, and Gilead Master Plan, also taking into account potential impacts from Pilgrim Triton. A video of the presentation to the Planning Commission by consultants Fehr and Peers is also available online.

There are lots of opportunities for public input on each of the projects. Members of the community are encouraged to take the time to learn the facts about projects being proposed for Foster City by reading the source documents, subscribing to the City’s free e-mail subscription lists, attending or watching public meetings and asking questions of City staff, Planning Commissioners and City Council Members. You owe it to yourself, your family and the future of Foster City to be informed!
