FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Foster City Levee Pedway Closed for Repair

Foster City, CA; September 9, 2009

Foster City’s popular walking and biking trail along the levee will be closed on September 17 and 18, 2009 from Baffin Street to Gateshead Park. Although the pedway itself will be closed, there will be a detour in place during construction to facilitate continued use of the trail.

Foster City maintenance crews are closing this section of the levee pedway in order to complete repairs to damaged asphalt near Schooner Bay Apartments.

The Foster City Levee Pedway is a segment of the San Francisco Bay Trail, a planned recreational corridor that, when complete, will encircle San Francisco and San Pablo Bays with a continuous 500-mile network of bicycling and hiking trails.

For more information about the repair project, contact Public Works Maintenance Superintendent Mike McElligott at 650-286-8140.
