Foster City Recruiting for Transportation Committee
Foster City, CA; June 16, 2009
City Council continues its recruitment of Ad Hoc Transportation Committee members to work on a comprehensive and coordinated transportation plan for the City. The City seeks residents who are interested in providing their ideas on improving transportation options for those who live in or commute to Foster City. Individuals who commute daily or work for Foster City businesses are especially encouraged to apply.
The membership term is through June 30, 2010. The actual time commitment will depend upon the time required for the Committee to complete its objectives. The committee generally meets every fourth Tuesday at 7 PM in the Emergency Operations Center at 1040 E. Hillsdale Blvd.
The Ad Hoc Transportation Committee is dedicated to improving the convenience, accessibility and sustainability of transportation while also reducing traffic congestion. In January 2009, the Committee completed Phase I of its mission, which included making recommendations for transportation measures serving youth, seniors, and people with disabilities. The Committee will now begin developing a Phase II plan which will consider ways to assist business commuters to get to work in ways other than single-passenger vehicle trips.
