The Foster City Arts and Culture Committee and the Foster City Recreation Department are proud to announce the winners of the Foster City 2009 Photo Contest. A reception and award ceremony was held to honor all winners on October 17, 2009. Marty Springer of WritingWithLight Photography was the keynote speaker.

This year's photographers were among the best in the history of the contest. “The photos are magnificent. It is photographers like these that help us appreciate the beautiful world we live in and I am proud to share their work with the world,” marveled event co-chair Evelyn Long.

Event Co-Chairs Lee Basham and Evelyn Long were also effusive in their praise of the event judges, Randy Silvers of Randy Silvers Photography and Cindy Larson of CP Larson Photography. Because there were so many excellent entries, the judging was very difficult but the judges did a great job. This year’s event boasted two new categories and almost 200 entries more than the previous year.

Although timing did not allow for display of the winning entries this year, watch for the display of another group of excellent entries which is already being planned for next year.
