Fire and Police Department Open House

Foster City, CA; September 11, 2008
 

The Fire Department and Police Departments will be opening their doors to the public at an Open House on Saturday, October 4, 2008, from 10 AM to 2 PM.

All residents are invited to come by for a fun-filled and informative trip through the Fire and Police stations. In addition to station tours and the chance to see the tools that are used by firefighters and police officers, there will be many displays, demonstrations and information on safety and emergency preparedness.

There will be information and activities for all ages. The Fire Department will have demonstrations and displays including a Fire Safety Trailer where kids can learn what to do if there is a fire in their home, while adults can participate in a stove and utility demonstrations discussing how to properly put out stove fires and how to turn off utilities in an emergency. Paramedics will perform free blood pressure checks.

The Police Department is offering crime prevention information and tours of the Police Station. Officers will be showing the equipment on police cars and motorcycles. Also, free child fingerprinting kits will be available.

Hot dogs, chips and soda will be served.
