Foster City Dog Park users are reminded to use courtesy, consideration, cleanliness, and common sense when utilizing the park. Specific rules include:
“3-Dog Limit” per person.
Dogs must be on a leash when entering/exiting the park.
Owners must be in control of their pets at all times.
Patrons must clean up after their pets.
No food or alcohol is allowed inside the park.
Dogs must be licensed. Spaying/neutering is recommended.
The Foster City Parks and Recreation Department held a community meeting on October 13, 2010 to review several issues concerning the Dog Park. Based on this meeting, Staff will recommend to the City Council that the rule that imposes a limit of three dogs per park user be adopted as a City ordinance to support enforcement of the limit. Further discussion on this proposed change will take place at the December 1, 2010, Parks and Recreation Committee meeting at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers. The public is invited to attend.
The complete Dog Park Rules can be viewed on the Parks and Recreation Department web page at www.fostercity.org or on signs at the dog park. Brochures with the rules can be obtained at City Hall, the Recreation Center and the Community Center.
