FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DESIGN PROPOSALS FOR CITY’S 15-ACRE PARCEL TO BE PRESENTED TO CITY COUNCIL

Foster City, CA; August 18, 2011

At its regular meeting on September 6, 2011, the City Council will receive presentations from two land development teams for the development of the 15-Acre vacant property immediately south of City Hall. Please note that this meeting is a Tuesday due to the Labor Day holiday.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 6, and starts at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chambers, 620 Foster City Boulevard, Foster City. The two presentations will begin at 7:15 PM and 8:30 PM. The public is invited to attend this meeting or view it on FCTV; Comcast Channel 27, ATT Channel 99 or streaming at fostercity.tv.

Based on their selection through a Request for Qualifications process, three land development teams were invited to respond to a Request for Proposals. Two teams submitted proposals by the August 1, 2011, deadline. At the September 6 meeting, each team will present the initial concept of the uses and designs that their teams are proposing for the site, based on the criteria that were included in the Request for Proposals. The presentations at this meeting are expected to demonstrate each team’s approach and ability to create a plan that matches the City’s vision for the site.

The two land development teams that will be participating in the September 6 meeting include a team led by the Sares-Regis Group of Northern California L.L.P. (7:15 PM presentation) and a team put together for this effort called Foster City Community Partners (8:30 PM presentation).

The City Council will not be selecting one of the firms as the potential developers of the 15-acre site at the September 6 meeting. That decision will be discussed and made at the City Council meeting on October 3.

For more information, please contact Community Development Director Rick Marks at 286-3225.
