Construction Advisory Notice - Foster City Boulevard Resurfacing Project
Foster City, CA; August 18, 2009
Motorists are advised that the portion of Foster City Boulevard from Foster City Boulevard Bridge to Beach Park Boulevard will be resurfaced as part of this summer’s resurfacing project. The work will include repair of pavement failures followed by asphalt repaving. Work is tentatively scheduled to begin in early September 2009. The project is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete, however, weather or unforeseen conditions may affect the overall schedule.
The Foster City Resurfacing Project is being funded in the amount of $440,000 by federal surface transportation funding as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.
While Foster City Boulevard will remain open in each direction during the work, construction will result in disruption of normal traffic patterns. Construction traffic control and lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should expect delays and plan extra time for travel while construction is underway. Motorists are also advised to seek alternate routes if possible. The City appreciates everyone’s patience and cooperation with any inconvenience caused by this construction activity as we work to maintain our streets.
The City’s general contractor for this project is G. Bortolotto & Company of San Carlos. Work activities will normally take place Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM in order to avoid peak traffic periods. However, there may be instances when work activities will need to take place outside the normal periods.
