City Seeks Community Input at Important Budget Meeting

Foster City, CA; November 9, 2010

The City Council will be taking an in-depth look at the services it provides as it puts together a plan to repair a structural deficit that has appeared in City’s financial forecasts.

On Monday, November 29, the City Council will be holding a special Study Session to discuss the options that have been prepared by the City Manager for solving the budget deficit. A second meeting has been scheduled and will be held Tuesday, November 30 if needed. The deficit was created when the economy caused a decline in revenues with no similar decline in expenses. Both meetings will be held in the City Council Chambers, 620 Foster City Boulevard and will start at 5:30 PM.

City Manager Jim Hardy is developing for the City Council’s consideration a recommended budget balancing plan to ensure the security of Foster City’s financial future. That plan will be available to the public prior to the November 29 meeting, once it has been released.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend this session or to view it on Foster City TV, Comcast channel 27, ATT channel 99 or webstreaming at fostercity.tv.

For more information about public meetings, call the City Clerk’s office at 650-286-3250.
