FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

City Council Asks for More Information Before Selecting Developers for City's 15-Acre Parcel

Foster City, CA; September 20, 2011

At the City Council meeting on September 6, two land development teams presented proposed projects for the 15-acre parcel immediately south of City Hall. On October 3, 2011, the teams will be given a further opportunity to discuss their proposals relative to how they will benefit the Foster City residents and community.

The teams will answer questions from the City Council about the projects, and will be asked to specifically address their business model for the project, including the number and type of senior housing units that will be built, which services will be provided, and what the cost could be to move into and live in the units. The teams will also address how the general public will enjoy the site through the retail stores and the public spaces. The public is also invited to ask questions and comment on the proposals at this meeting.

The meeting will take place on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chambers, 620 Foster City Boulevard, Foster City. The public is invited to attend or view it on FCTV; Comcast Channel 27, ATT Channel 99 or streaming at fostercity.tv. Written questions and/or comments may be submitted in advance of the meeting to Rick Marks, Community Development Director, 610 Foster City Boulevard, Foster City, CA 94404 or rmarks@fostercity.org.

The City Council plans to consider the selection of a team as the potential developers of the site at its meeting on Monday, October 17, 2011.

The two land development teams include a team led by the Sares-Regis Group of Northern California L.L.P. and a team put together for this effort called Foster City Community Partners.

For more information, please contact Community Development Director Rick Marks at 286-3225.
