Like many cities, Foster City is tightening its belt to address a growing budget deficit. Despite the pride the City takes in Foster City TV’s award-winning, originally-produced, local programming, the budget forecast for the foreseeable future means this programming cannot be sustained. Many of the shows that viewers have come to appreciate may not be offered in the future.
Regular public meetings, like the City Council, and Planning Commission sessions, will continue to be broadcast live and replayed later. City related announcements will continue to be found on Foster City TV’s Bulletin Board. Some programming produced by others, and other important public meetings may be scheduled from time to time.
Viewers will start to see some changes immediately. For example, regularly scheduled timely features such as Foster City News, and the City Council RECAP are no longer offered. Viewers will be directed to alternative ways to stay informed about community news and events. Episodes of City Snapshots, FC Café Talk Show, Meet the Candidates, or election related recaps, Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting, Green Footprint, or Smart Moves will no longer be produced. Existing shows that remain current will be replayed.
Foster City TV appreciates and thanks its many loyal viewers. Every effort will be made to maintain the highest quality and variety of programming possible within the limited resources available to the channel.
