FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Census 2010 - Save Time, Save Money, Help Your Community

Foster City, CA; April 7, 2010

The California Census 2010 Complete Count Committee and the City of Foster City remind you that April is Census Month – taking a few minutes to return your census form will help ensure that Foster City gets its fair share of federal and state representation and funding. An accurate count in Foster City will help the City provide better infrastructure, more services and a brighter tomorrow for Foster City.

To date, 68% of Foster City residents have mailed back their Census Questionnaires. The Mail Response Rate is important as Census employees plan for the important door-to-door workload that begins in May during which all households that have NOT returned a census form by April 22 will receive a visit from the Census Enumerators. If 100% of households in the US mailed back their forms, taxpayers would save $1.5 billion dollars. Let's all do our part and mail back our forms.

Census Replacement Questionnaires have gone out, but if you have not yet received a form, please contact Allison Gramp at the U.S. Census Bureau at 650-641-8303 or Kohar Kojayan, Associate Planner with the City of Foster City, at 650-286-3237.

Take 10 minutes to fill out your 2010 Census form and mail it back TODAY. Be counted and make a difference in Foster City.
