Artwork of Gail Ragains Featured at Foster City Art Gallery

The Foster City Art Gallery is proud to announce the opening a new exhibition on January 4, 2011, featuring well-known local artist, Gail Ragains. A reception for the artist will be held from 2 PM to 4 PM on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Art Gallery. This exhibit will be on display from January 4 through January 30, 2011.

Local artist Gail Ragains will exhibit her recent “Windy Hill Series” of abstract landscape paintings along side several of her figurative paintings. Ms. Ragains’ paintings have a strong physical and expressive style, pushing the envelope with bold, gestural brushstrokes and compelling colors. Each painting is a statement of color, design, layers, and line.

The Foster City Art Gallery is located at 650 Shell Boulevard in Foster City. Gallery hours are Monday thru Saturday from 9 AM to 9 PM. For gallery and art tours by reservation, call 650- 286-3380. The gallery is handicapped accessible.

The Foster City Art Gallery is a not-for-profit public art gallery which operates for the benefit and enrichment of the public. The mission of the Gallery is to promote awareness and appreciation of the visual arts and showcase a variety of artists throughout the year. Located in Foster City California, the Gallery is housed within the William Walker Recreation Center which is visited by over 100,000 people per year. The Gallery is managed by City staff and members of the Foster City Arts and Culture Committee and is generously supported by the Foster City City Council. The Foster City Arts and Culture Committee reviews proposals for exhibitions on a monthly basis and welcomes new artists to submit artwork for consideration.
