The City has announced that the deadline for the Foster City International Writers Contest has been extended. Entries will be accepted through Monday, June 1, 2009 (mailed entries need to be postmarked by that date).

As in previous years, written submissions will be accepted in five categories including Fiction, Humorous Story, Children’s Story, Personal Essay, and Poetry. First place winners in each category will receive $150 each while second place winners will receive $75 each.

Entries can be submitted by mail or online. Online entries should be mailed to: fostercity_writers@yahoo.com. Mailed versions should be sent to Foster City International Writer’s Contest, c/o Foster City Parks and Recreation Department, 650 Shell Blvd., Foster City, CA 94404. A $20 entry fee is required per submitted work.
