Foster City residents Margaret (Peggy) Ankerbrand and Fran Mansoor were honored at a special City Council Meeting on October 19, 2009 as the newest inductees into the Foster City Community Wall of Fame.

The late Peggy Ankerbrand served as Executive Director of the Foster City Chamber of Commerce from 1978 until 1995. She also served as President for the American Heart Association and on the Board of Directors of Hillbarn Theater. Peggy and her husband, Bob opened their home to many Rotary Exchange students, welcoming high school kids from Japan, England, Zimbabwe, and Nicaragua. Peggy passed away in Las Vegas on January 12, 2009.

Fran is an enthusiastic participant in many recreational activities, including Senior Fitness classes and Senior Movies. Fran was nominated as a Foster City Senior Wing Volunteer of the Quarter in 2007, and currently sits on the Arts and Culture Committee. She also volunteers as an usher at Hillbarn Theater.

The City of Foster City offers its congratulations and thanks to Fran Mansoor, and the family of Peggy Ankerbrand.
