Community Involvement

Community involvement throughout the General Plan Update process is very important. Because the General Plan is intended to guide the growth and development of the City, it is very important to have the public involved throughout the process to ensure that the General Plan reflects the needs and desires of the community. In order to obtain input from the citizens, the Planning Commission and the Community Development Department will be holding several community meetings and workshops over the next few months. Community involvement will help the City to tailor the policies and goals of the General Plan to the needs and desires of the community.

In order to obtain public input on the existing conditions of Foster City and what your vision of Foster City in 10 years is, the Planning Commission and the Community Development Department will be holding several meetings specifically for community input. The City will be divided into three segments for three community meetings. A Housing Element workshop will also be held to discuss housing issues in the City. Although the meetings are divided, if you are unable to attend your scheduled meeting you may attend one of the other community meetings or you can phone, write, or email the Community Development Department to discuss your concerns, views, or opinions.

Foster City General Plan Survey

The General Plan Survey is an opportunity for you to tell us what you think! Please take a couple of minutes and fill this out. Your comments and suggestions are the only way we can ensure that your input is incorporated into this important document. Download the General Plan Survey and mail to the Community Development Department or you can drop it off in person at City Hall. You can also email your comments on the General Plan to the Community Development Department.
