The City has entered into negotiations with The New Home Company to develop the vacant City-owned land adjacent to the Government Center, known as the 15-Acres. The proposal is for senior housing and mixed commercial uses including up to 200 for-sale housing units, 66 affordable housing units, and 150 assisted-living units, 30,000+ square feet of commercial space, and public open space.

The Planning Commission will hold a series of study sessions to review the proposed plans. An Environmental Impact Report is currently being prepared for the proposal.

 Current Status:

  • The Planning Commission held a Public Hearing on June 19, 2014  to discuss the use permit/specific Development plan request to consider the public realm plans, including landscaping, streetscape, lighting, and circulation plans, for the 15-Acre Foster Square Project site, UP-14-005 and the use permit/specific development plan request to consider the site and architectural plans for the for-sale unit component of the Foster Square project on approximately 5 net acres of the 15-Acre Foster Square site. The plan includes development of 200 residential condominiums in 14 buildings – portion of APN: 094-471-100 – EA-12-002C;UP-14-004
