In addition to maintaining its own insurance, the City requires that contractors who work on City property, provide services to the City or work in the public right-of-way, also carry proper insurance.  Contractors must work with the project manager on City staff to determine the minimum requirements that apply to their project. The City's typical insurance requirements are as follows:·      

  • Workers' Compensation:  statutory minimum
  • Employer's Liability:  $1,000,000 per accident for bodily injury or disease
  • Commercial General Liability:  $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate for bodily injury, personal injury and property damage
  • Automobile Liability:  $1,000,000 per accident for bodily injury and property damage (coverage required to the extent applicable to contractor's vehicle usage in performing the services related to the contract)
  • Professional Liability:  Those providing professional services regulated by the state are also required to carry at least $1,000,000 per claim and aggregate
