Mission Statement: The Parks and Recreation Committee shall act in an advisory capacity to the EMID Board of Directors in order to provide for the establishment, continuation, and development of a recreation program to provide the citizens of this District with the fullest utilization of all existing recreation facilities by: 1) Advising in matters related to the scope and purpose of recreation services in the District; 2) Recommending general policies on recreation services; 3) Advising on the acquisition and development of recreation areas, facilities, and activities; 4) Assisting the District Manager and his staff in carrying out the policies established by the EMID Board of Directors for the recreation program of the District, if requested; and 5) Aiding in coordination of recreation services with the programs of other governmental agencies and voluntary organizations, when appropriate.
Membership: The committee consists of eleven (11) members appointed by the EMID Board of Directors to terms of three years each. Members serve without compensation.
Qualifications for All City/District Committees: All persons interested in serving on any committee shall submit to the City Clerk/District Secretary, a written request for appointment containing such information on their background and qualifications as they deem appropriate. Members of all committees shall be residents of the City of Foster City/Estero Municipal Improvement District.
Meeting Dates and Time: The First Wednesday of each month, at 6:30 p.m. in the Foster City Council Chambers Conference Room 620 Foster City Boulevard, Foster City.
