| City of Foster City Multi-Project Traffic Study PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Multi-Project Traffic Study analyzes the individual and cumulative traffic impacts of three proposed development projects: Mirabella San Francisco Bay/Parkview Plaza: a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) consisting of 350 independent living apartments, 20 assisted living units, a 20-bed memory care facility, a 30-bed skilled nursing facility, 70 senior apartments, and 50,000 sq. ft. of retail space on 11 acres of the 15-acre vacant property adjacent to the Government Center. Chess Drive Office Buildings: replacing 190,000 sq. ft. of office/warehouse space with 800,000 sq. ft. of office space in three buildings at 1155-1191 Chess Drive. Gilead Sciences Campus Master Plan: replacing 631,000 sq. ft. of office and research and development space with 1.2 million sq. ft. of lab and office space at 300-368 Lakeside Drive. Mirabella/Parkview Plaza, Gilead Sciences and Chess Drive. Current Status: - The City Council held a Public Meeting to review and discuss the Final Multi-Project Traffic Analysis and the follow-up Engineering Feasibility Study on Monday, July 20, 2009. - At the City Council meeting on November 3, 2008 the agenda included two items, 8.3 and 8.4, that include follow-up work to the Draft Multi-Project Traffic Study that analyzes the traffic impacts of proposed developments in Foster City, including: Gilead Sciences Corporate Campus Master Plan, Chess Drive Office Buildings and the Mirabella San Francisco/Parkview Plaza Projects. - The Planning Commission held a Study Session to review and discuss the Draft Multi-Project Traffic Study on Thursday, September 4, 2008. The purpose of this Study Session was to hear a presentation from the traffic consultant on the draft report and its conclusions and to offer the Planning Commission and public an opportunity to provide comments on the draft Traffic Study. The findings of the Final Report will be incorporated into the Environmental Impact Reports currently being prepared for the three projects studied.
