I can’t believe it is already 2006. I wanted to write about a few things that are going to happen in Foster City this year.
Leo Ryan Park was rededicated last November but one of the main items that is not complete is the marquee at the corner of East Hillsdale Blvd and Shell Blvd. This is going to be replaced this year with one that everyone can read. I have made a promise that I will not allow one that you can’t read to be installed. The Stage in the meadow is being rebuilt by a joint effort of the Foster City Lions and Rotary Club. The stage will be complete and ready for the 4th of July event.
There is a fundraiser to help community programs for the Foster City Police and Fire. The Foster City Rotary and Lions Club are co-sponsoring this event on January 27th. Please contact either club or the Police or Fire Department for ticket info. All proceeds are going to Police and Fire programs to help in our community.
The City Council has 2 new council members on board and they are already working hard to learn their new duties. It takes awhile to learn and see everything that is going on. Both Pam Frisella and John Kiramis look like they are getting up to speed very quickly; it helps that they both know a lot about our city.
I hope everyone has good health this year and that 2006 is as good as or even better than 2005.
Happy New Year
