On November 8, 2011, Steve Okamoto was elected to serve a four-year term on the City Council.
Steve Okamoto is originally a San Francisco native. Steve attended the "old" Lowell High School and graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Business. Steve worked in the financial industry for 38 years and received his designation of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) in 1978 and his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) in 1984. Steve retired from that career to start a new career as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society where he worked for the past 10 years. In the years Steve has worked for the Society, he raised tens of millions of dollars in gifts. Steve recently retired from the Society so he could devote full time to the City business.
Steve has been married to Diana for over 35 years and have two children, Brad, 31 and Katie, 30. He has lived in Foster City for over 33 years. He has grown to love the City with its beautiful parks and lagoons. Steve also love the lifestyle where there is a sense of friendship and family.
Steve recently retired and can now devote time to give back to the City he loves.
