The Holidays are always a hectic time of year, yet, they serve to produce so many wonderful memories. The festive spirit in our community has been evidenced by the brightly colored lights and beautiful decorations on many homes. My compliments to the City staff for the decorations around City Hall and the Recreation Center. There seemed to be a real effort to embrace the holiday season.
At this time of year, the emphasis of giving and sharing, family and friends causes one to reflect on days gone by. We are blessed with such a diverse community through which we can experience a variety of family traditions. Light is life and the peace and tranquility that exudes from this generates a calm and happy feeling. One that I wish could last all year.
I personally enjoy the Christmas holiday, with my children and now my grandchildren. I am caught up in their energy as they anticipate the surprises that come with opening each colorful, neatly wrapped package. Given that, I wish this month would never end. This peaceful calm allows me to reflect on how blessed we are with what we have and where we live.
I am very thankful for the opportunities that are afforded me living in this City and in this Nation. I respect and appreciate the values that are rooted in America and I am proud that my grandparents decided to come here and become a part of a real pioneer history.
I hope you all have an opportunity to spend time with your family and friends and take time to get out from the “rat-race” and enjoy and appreciate what we have. Happy Holidays to all!
