PW Closing
I was disappointed last week when PW Market closed their doors. We worked very hard to bring a new food market into the City when the Marlin Cove Shopping Center was redeveloped and we were very pleased with the store when it opened. Unfortunately, PW Market was not doing well financially in this location, and the owner decided to close and sublease the Foster City store to another food market operator – Ranch 99.

Ranch 99 currently has stores in Cupertino, Emeryville, and Daly City, as well as in Irvine, CA and other locations in California and Washington. Ranch 99 will be conducting some interior renovations and will re-open the store after those renovations have been completed. We do not know exactly when they will reopen but estimate that it will be in the Spring of 2004.

I have received many emails about the closing of PW Market and also the new market - Ranch 99. The email has been both positive and negative from the public, but most are positive. Change is hard sometimes, but I have learned over the years not to be too quick to jump to conclusions. We have heard very positive things about Ranch 99 and I look forward to seeing them open. I hate to see any of our shopping centers with vacant storefronts.
