Last Summer Concert
Friday, August 19th, was the last Summer Concert, and it was great. The weather was perfect and as usual the amphitheater was beautiful. There were about 1,400 people there, a lot were families.

The dance area was filled with several hundred dancers. There are all kinds of dancing combinations from young toddlers barely walking, kids, teenagers, young adults, baby boomers, seniors, and even elderly barely walking, but that didn’t stop anyone from having a good old time on Friday night.

The Summer Concerts are free and are open to the public. The bands bring in followers but it looks like the majority of the attendees are Foster City residents. What a great thing for our residents to enjoy as we come to the end of the summer.

The concerts bring a lot of joy to the attendees but the two service organizations raise money from the sale of food and drink and in return fund more projects in the City.

The Lions Club and the Rotary Club are getting ready to do a joint volunteer project in Leo Ryan Park. In the last phase of finishing our park, the two clubs are working to repair and rebuild the stage in the meadow. I hope to have some great pictures of both clubs working jointly on this effort.

Leo Ryan Park is scheduled to be completed in October of this year and there will be a dedication ceremony scheduled for November 13.
