Kevin Miller installed as new CPRS President
On Saturday April 6th I had the privilege of swearing in the Board of Directors for the California Parks and Recreation Society. This is the largest professional Parks and Recreation group in the United States. The City of Foster City has some bragging rights because our Director of Parks and Recreation Kevin Miller was installed as the President of the CPRS by City Manager Jim Hardy and Kevin?s wife, Loretta Miller. The event took place in Los Angeles at the Biltmore Hotel and it was quite a prestigious occasion. The Biltmore Hotel was host to the first few Academy Awards along with being the site of many movie filmings.
Over 100 California cities and Districts were represented along with a contingent of Bay Area cities.

This just amplifies what we have been saying for many years -- that our City has one of the best organized parks and recreation departments in California.

Kevin?s term will last one year but he will continue to oversee our programs in Foster City as usual.
I want to congratulate Kevin and also thank him for making me a part of this event.

Kevin is well respected throughout the State of California and in Foster City. We expect his strong leadership will continue with his extra duties as President of the CPRS as well as Director of Parks and Recreation in Foster City.

We should all look forward to another great year in our parks and programs put on by our Parks and Recreation Department.
