At our last City Council meeting FCTV was the hot topic. In these tight budget times the Council is looking everywhere they can to save money. Over the past 7 years that I have been on the City Council I have supported and have encouraged the growth of FCTV.
The expansion of programming in our City has helped keep Foster City residents apprised of what is going on in our City. The City Council is in agreement of the standard programs that show the meetings of the City Council, Planning Commission, and Parks and Recreation Committee, as well as the Bulletin Board. The problem is on the expanded programs in that we do not know what kind of viewer ship we have.
The City Council is going to do a survey of residents through our water bills to find out what kind of viewer ship FCTV has on these extra programs. This may very well determine the fate of these extra programs. It is going to be up to the viewers to respond. I have listed a few programs that we produced and aired over the last year.
• City Snapshots
• City Council Preview
• PJCC Food for Thought Series
• Emergency Preparedness Town Hall Meeting
• Foster City Community Chorus Holiday Concert
• Decision 2005 Meet The Candidates
• San Mateo County OES Avian Bird Flu Seminar
• Identity Theft Symposium
• City Information Technology Advisory Committee and
the Chamber of Commerce
• Youth Advisory Committee Spotlight
• Smart Moves
• Foster City Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting
