Foster City Islander Turns 30
The Foster City Islander has served our community for 30 years now. Sam Felser and his daughter Marge Felser have put a weekly free newspaper on the stands in our city for 30 years. That equals over 1560 editions. I don?t know about you but I would have a hard time figuring what to write about each week. Sam and Marge do a great job of keeping up with local politics, city issues, legal notices, and community events. Any week you can pick up a copy at most shopping centers and city buildings.

Sam has been a member of the Foster City Lions Club and has been very active in covering events the Lions do in Foster City. Sam is also very active in the 55 Plus Club.

The Foster City Islander brings a great service to our community in keeping us informed on all the issues and events.

The Islander also has encouraged the San Mateo/Foster City Elementary School Board to write weekly articles on the happenings of the school district, and the weekly council corner that all the city council members take their turns writing.

The Islander also puts in articles and pictures of our youth sports program. This is exciting for our youth to have their pictures in the paper, along with educational awards, plays, and just about anything our kids do in this community.

We are very fortunate to have a locally owned newspaper and best of all it is free.

Sam and Marge, you both need to be thanked for your years of community service.

THANK YOU!
