Fitting Justice
As you might have read or heard I have been working on cracking down on illegal door to door solicitors. A couple weeks ago one of these solicitors knocked on a door and when nobody answered he went to the side of the house and started checking on gaining access to the home. He was surprised to find the residents home and he took off. He was a block away from my house when he was interrupted by the homeowners. He ended up trying to hide in the bushes at my house when he was spotted by the police department. He was promptly arrested for prowling, illegal soliciting, and drug charges. I arrived home just when the police were carting him off to jail. I was surprised to see several policemen in my yard looking for evidence. What are the odds that this person would try and hide in my yard? I still chuckle when I think about it.

The City Council will be holding many meetings on this year?s budget. We are meeting about 3 times more than the previous years. It looks like we are going to be in the belt tightening mode for several years. However, it appears that Foster City will fare okay through these times. I am more worried about our school districts. The Governor is cutting huge amounts from their budgets and they were never flush with money even during the great times.

I am looking at ways now that I can personally help with school projects. We may all be asked to help out.

If you are interested in our budget meetings please get the dates off of our city web page www.fostercity.org
