Celebration
We are all getting together to celebrate a milestone in the development of our City. So mark your calendars for Saturday, March 29th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at our new City Hall.

What this is is the official ribbon cutting and opening of our new Government Center buildings. There will be acknowledgements, tours and treats. But more fundamentally, we will be recognizing the participation and accomplishments of many.

First, we will be complimenting the magnificent entrepreneurial achievements of T. Jack Foster, the man with the vision, the courage to take the risks, the perseverance to work through the many problems and the strength to create this wonderful way of life that we call Foster City. His statue is appropriately located right at the entrance to our new City Hall.

The next thing we want to recognize is the unique public sector-private sector collaboration that we had with representatives of the North Jewish Community Center and Bridgeview Academy along with the people of Foster City. Working together with a common purpose and shared responsibilities we developed our beautiful master plan for our City Center campus.

And then finally the ?Coup de grace,? the new city buildings. Remember the more than 40 public meetings that we had to establish our civic center master plan and remember the competition that we held for the design of the city buildings and remember how you chose the one of five designs that best represented our vision for our city center?

Well, this will be a good time to have your own tour of our accomplishments, the new city buildings and have all your interests satisfied and all your questions answered.

Remember, Saturday March 29th, all afternoon. See you there!!
