Councilmember Ron Cox

Council Corner

A Tribute to Russ Harter
Last week Russ Harter had his last meeting as a council member. It was great to see all the people that turned out for the reorganization of the City Council. I am really going to miss Russ. You always knew where Russ stood on any issue; he made it very clear.

We have to give Russ some of the credit for better communications with the two school districts. He also stood in front of the library every Sunday to answer any questions the public may have about our City.

Russ came to me when I first came on the Council and told me to vote with my head and heart and not worry how the other council members were voting, and that is exactly what Russ did also. Over the last four years I have come to admire Russ for his opinion and his honesty.

Russ worked hard over the last four years to help bring unity to our Council and his efforts show. This Council has probably been one of the better united Councils this City has ever seen.

I will miss Russ and his feisty attitude that made our Council a joy to be a part of.

I think I can say it for the entire City Council, that we will miss you, Russ.
