Mission Statement: The mission of the Ad Hoc Transportation Advisory Committee (“Committee”) shall be as follows:
- Monitor implementation of Phase I recommendations
- Assess the needs of the community, particularly the commuting population, by actively seeking the involvement of members of the business community
- Identify funding sources for both Phase I and Phase II recommendations
- Identify and recommend short-term and long-term goals, strategies, and solutions to the City Council for a coordinated and comprehensive transportation system for individuals who commute to or from Foster City, aiming to meet the goals of convenience, sustainability, accessibility, and traffic congestion reduction
Membership: The Committee shall consist of eleven (11) members, to be selected through an application process following the publication of the vacancies. Members who participated in the Phase I effort are welcome to reapply. The City shall make an effort to include business interests in the Committee as either regular members or as members of a separate working group.
Qualifications: The membership would remain the same, although others may be asked to become members of the committee in the future or to participate in some of the future meetings (e.g., residents, representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, major employers). Members of all committees shall be residents of the City of Foster City.
Meeting Dates and Time: The Committee meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 7-9PM in the Emergency Operations Center at the Fire Station. The next meeting is January 26th, 2010.
