Municipal Codes

The Foster City Municipal Code and the Estero Municipal Improvement District (EMID) Code are a compilation of Foster City’s and EMID’s applicable ordinances (rules, regulations or standards). They are the City and District’s primary codes. Secondary codes include any other codes adopted by reference, e.g., building, fire safety and electrical codes.

Residents can examine the Municipal Code Books at:

  • City Clerk’s Office, 610 Foster City Boulevard
  • County Law Library, 710 Hamilton Street, Redwood City.

Disposable Food Service Ware Ordinance
Starting on April 1, 2012, food vendors in Foster City can no longer use polystyrene-based food service ware.
Construction Operating Hours and Limitations
Operating any tools or equipment used in construction, repair, alteration, demolition or landscape maintenance is within certain hours.
