F.C.P.D. - Range Master Staff

Special Weapons


The Foster City Police Department's Rangemaster Staff is comprised of nine officers:

1 - Rangemaster
8 - Assistant Rangemasters


The Rangemaster Staff is responsible for providing training to our officers on all department firearms, which include:

  • Smith & Wesson Handguns
  • Shotguns
  • AR-15 Rifles
  • Sub-machine guns
  • Less-Than-Lethal Sage gun. 

Shooting in the Range


The Rangemaster staff conducts in-service qualification courses on a quarterly basis, and also realistic training courses using state-of-the-art simulators as well as live fire at Coyote Point Firing Range.

 

All Rangemasters must complete an approved Police Firearms Instructor course and one or more approved Police Firearms schools such as:

Shotgun and Vest

 

  • Armorer School
  • Rifle Instructor School
  • Sub-machine Gun Instructor School
  • Less Lethal Weapons School
