Recruitment Process
We are pleased that you are interested in working for the City of Foster City. Currently the city employs approximately 190 full-time employees. Full-time, part-time and seasonal positions are available. Foster City only accepts applications for current open positions.

The Human Resources Department will contact applicants selected for interviews after the specified closing date. Upon receiving an application for an open position, an acknowledgement letter will be sent to you. Depending on the position, you may meet with one or more individuals in the hiring department, including the supervisor for the position. Some positions require you to meet with an interview panel (oral board).

Once the interviews are complete, the hiring manager will extend an offer to the most qualified candidate. If you are selected for employment, you will be required to present proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Some positions may also require a physical examination, for which the City will arrange and pay.
